I have a Polo Green 95 Coupe and need to decide whether or not I should restore my sawblades with light machining and new clearcoat or chrome them. Who either has chrome sawblades or has seen them? How do you like them? Thanks
I originally had the factory sawblades but they eventually got bent and I replaced them with the chrome sawblades. I absolutely love the chrome. Much easier to clean and always receive compliments for them, too. IMO, they're worth every penny.
I have chrome sawblade (and doorhandles and empblems for that matter) on a white car i think it is a must to dres it up a little. I will have to admit there is a little peeling here and there after several years. Still no one would notice except a car guy and even then only up real close. I get compliments on the wheels all the time. I think it's too bland the way the came stock, chome em!!

Re: Chrome Sawblades (TSauntry)
I do, but I just got lucky. I ordered em from someone on ebay for about $750. Mine are still in near flawless condition, but usually peoples' chrome rims start to crack after about a year. I've almost had em for 2 years now with no signs of cracks whatsoever, but I do honestly clean em once every 2 days, so that may have something to do with it. Make sure they're atleast triple chrome plated if you have them done. There's alot of chrome rims out there from what I hear up here on the forum that crack easy or have cracked. Personally I'd say go with the chrome if you take good care of your wheels and clean em atleast once a week. If you don't, go with some aftermarket stainless steels. They both can look pretty damn cool.
Mine came on my 96 Vette, Right off the showroom floor. In fact I thought they were factory rims until I joined the Corvette Forum a few years ago. Mine are just as good as the day I drove it off the lot and I don't do must extra to them to preserve them except for washing and polishing them... :yesnod:
