Question about vette lighting
OK all, I was talking with Timspeed about upgrading parking lights to atleast get rid of the crappy amber color and recently confirmed that it's actually illegal to have any front lights except headlights to be any color other than amber in Arizona. Back lights have to all be red except for turn signals which can be amber or yellow. It also says that you can't have any other lights on the vehicle displaying any other color from the exterior. http://www.azleg.state.az.us/FormatD...28&DocType=ARS
Anyone in Arizona or other states have to deal with this crap? I'm just curious..how are you all dealing with this? Alot of you live in Cali including timspeed..lol..and I'm sure the laws out there are about a hundred times worse for autos than here in AZ

That's a common misconception. The California motor vehicle code is one of the less fascist vehicle codes in the country.
Here's what it sez about turn signals.:
24953. (a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber light visible to the rear.
You could probably use clear lenses and amber bulbs, even with your East
Coast style vehicle code. :jester

That's exactly what I was going to quote...I STILL have the amber turn signal, on the front SIDES of the car.

What does it say about visible lights on your vehicle though? Does it say you can or can't have other colors? You just indicated the law on turn signals. What about lights in general?
Re: Question about vette lighting (MaSTeRofDZaSTeR)
25400. (b) Any diffused nonglaring light shall not display red to the front, but may display other colors. A diffused nonglaring light shall not resemble nor be installed within 12 inches or in such position as to interfere with the visibility or effectiveness of any required lamp, reflector, or other device upon the vehicle.
24953. (b) Side-mounted turn signal lamps projecting a flashing amber light to either side may be used to supplement the front and rear turn signals. Side-mounted turn signal lamps mounted to the rear of the center of the vehicle may project a flashing red light no part of which shall be visible from the front.
As is this little number...wow, I guess if I ever DO get pulled over for my lights, I have a LOT of reasons to get off scott free!
Re: Question about vette lighting (MaSTeRofDZaSTeR)
I just installed Silverstar 2057s in my front turns...andthey look great. I think the amber looks good and is a safer color. Silverstars are a pretty crisp amber, but a bit pricey at 20 a pair. I had an impusive moment and bought those and the silverstar fog lights....
