Default Daytime running lights installed

At the suggestion of a forum member, I ordered a kit and installed it yesterday. The running lights come on as soon as I start the car, and they're brighter than parking lights because the turn signal filaments are used.
I ordered the kit from http://www.webelectricproducts.com/ and the installation was pretty easy.
Here are the results, whaddayathink?

why would you add those  I know a lot of folks with DRL's from the factory disable them...

just wondering (It would be the first thing I got rid of on a new GM vehicle myself) :flag

I personally am not a fan of DRL either. I like having the option of whether I want them on or not. I've gotten used to them on the C5's and 4th Gen F-Bodies. At least they went to the "parking" lights instead of using the headlights when they first started appearing on GM cars.

The most important question is whether you like it. If you do, it really doesn't matter what the rest of us think

My normal reaction to DRLs is :U . They are something that is normaly used in dimly lit socialist countries :jester I have disconnected more than one pair of them.

but yours look good. Nice job

Actually not a bad idea on a C4 because C4s are low and stealthy, especially dark colored ones. However, I still prefer to be in control of my lights so I use the fog lights anytime visibility isn't great.

:iagree: more than once someone has pulled out and almost rammed me. I think a black vette just kind of dissapears into the ashpault.

do any other lights come on when the DRLs are on?

How does it install?

safety first :iagree:
Especially with all the retards in NJ. It's better having separate DRL's rather than the high beams they used to use, I would get blinded, but the DRL's they use now(such as on my truck) are not bad.

No other lights come on, just the front turn signals. I installed them for safety reasons, they're brighter than running with the parking lights on, which I almost always did. I also like the looks of them on the C5.
There are installation instructions on their website, but I just used the instructions that came with the kit. It took me a couple of hours because I'm so picky, but it should only take about an hour. Wire nuts, wire connectors, extra wire, everything you need comes with the kit.

I bought the same kit...but didn't install them...what wires did you use up front for power? There are all the relays for the fans and such, but I didn't want to use those (and I wasn't in the mood to run a new one from the battery).

Looks good, I'm doing the same eventually.

Just out of curiosity, what's the big deal if you have DRL's? Do they negate the aluminium foil hat you have on and the government can beam thoughts directly in your head...what's the big deal?

There's a pink wire (on a '94) going to one of the relays you mentioned, that supplies 12V when the ignition is on. That's the one I used. If you run a wire to the battery, the DRL's would be on all the time, unless you hook up an on/off switch inside the car.
I lost my aluminum foil hat a few weeks ago, and I had been thinking that I wanted the DRL's for 'visibility' purposes, but now you've got me wondering where these thoughts actually came from.
I also run with a lot of C5's and I think the brighter lights look better.

I put that kit on my vette this weekend and LOVE the look but i'm having a problem with mine. The right side does not always light up after using the turn signals. I'm going to check my wiring on Thanksgiving but I think I did it right. If it checks out OK (my wiring) then I will contact the guy who makes them for help. But I think they look GREAT!!! JMHO
