Default Gas mileage

Hey i know part of this has been discussed a couple times before but I am curious about something. I know some mods can give you performance benifits but in return hurt you gas mileage like rear gears. but some mods give you power and help you mpg like exhaust. my questions are what are all thing you can do to your corvette to help it get better gas mileage and at hte same time get maybe a littlre more power? and also as far as the gears thing goes. if i have a 345 right now and i go to a 411 and drop maybe say 4 or 5 mpg in town does that sound about right? also would that math work on any vehicle regardless of power? are you going to lose the same amount of mpg on any vehicle if you start with the same size and change to another size on both of them assuming your tranny ratios are the same?

I guess it could be done with the proper computer programming. Using only enough fuel for the job at hand. You want to run just enough fuel to prevent detonation. The problem is the weather, gas quality, weight, tune-up stuff and other factors. Set programming isn't the key, but a live adaptive data system is......dunno about the rest.
