Paint Removal
Expert Time!!!!!
I have bought a 92 vette with a bad, and I mean very bad, paint job. I noticed that besides not taping over anything, there is some overspray on the engine. Does anyone have a clue as how I can get this removed. Please Help!!!

Re: Paint Removal (Goodfella)
You could try using some paint thinner then wipe it off real quick with a different rag with soapy water, try it in an area that's not real visible first?
EDIT: Just do very small areas at a time....

Try enamel reducer. Experiment in an area that does not show. You can buy a gallon at any real parts store.....the ones which sell paint supplies to professionals.

I've had good luck with XYLENE/XYLOL . As others have said, try in an inconspicuous area first.

Re: Paint Removal (Midnite 88)
Thanks for all the tips. The pre-holiday season has put a major slowdown onto my projects, however, these tips will come into place during the small break the military gets. Thanks. :flag

Check Mid America or Eckler's. One of them has a product specifically for removing paint from fiberglass and plastics.

Sorry for delay in replying. T-cut is a mild abrasive liquid sold to remove tar, oxidation etc on automotive paintwork, also polishes brass, alloy etc

I've used Finger Nail Polish Remover... on plastic & rubber, just have a clean soapy rag ready to wash off...
