I've "burped" my 89 every night for a week and still get the occasional coolant low level light. Actually, it stays on all the time now. There is no doubt that the system is fully serviced so I'm gonna check the sensor. Any clue as to where it's located would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanx in advance!!
BTW, I REALLY like the burnout videos!!!! Keep 'em comin'!!!!!
If your 89 is anything like my 86. It is on the pass side column of the rad. You will see a wire coming out of it....like 2-3 inches down I think...
Hope that helped!
Good luck!

Re: Coolant Low Level Light (Bob Taylor)
 How did you "burp it"?
I have found the only way that really works for me is to drill one or two small holes 1/32" in the deck of the thermostat. This will allow coolant to go around the thermo and drive air out.
Otherwise, with engine warm, back off on upper hose clamp at thermo housing until you get a steady (but small) stream of coolant. If there is air, you will get spits and bubbles
Really haven't heard much about low coolant sensors going bad
I just found the sensor dangling by the radiator. The previous owner must have removed it because there is a dummy plug installed where the sensor should be in the radiator. Not sure why the light was intermittent before, anyway, no a big deal to fix. I will drill holes in the t'stat eventually. I get annoyed by intermittent idiot lights. Thanx for the help!!!

Re: Coolant Low Level Light (Bob Taylor)
 Glad you found it!
But you might now find that it was removed because there was a problem. Can't think of any reason to remove it and then install a dummy plug unless there was a problem
I can see that the t'stat has been changed by the new gasket and can only assume that the previous owner failed to burp the system properly. I'll replace the sensor for curiosity's sake. If that doesn't fix it, I'll just remove the bulb in the display.
