Convertible Top Questions?
Well I am finally getting around to having my top replaced on my white 92 vert. I went by the upholstry shop yesterday and was talking things over and I want to go back with the 94-96 tops with the hard back window. I know I will need the retrofit kit. Would this be the way to go? I was looking on the Robbins tops site last night and they sell the kit and top but under the kit it has this note:
"CAUTION: when the top is lowered or raised, damage to top and breakage of glass can occur due to the design of the top frame and top. Robbings cannot be held responsible for damage to our products due to problems described above."
Is this a problem? I have not heard of anyone having breakage problems. Would the back glass hardtop be the way to go over the vinyl rear window. Are there any other issues I should be aware of by swapping tops. I am going to have them do the weatherstripping also when they do the top. I am trying to cover all my basis before I dop all this $$$$$. Any help and guidance would be greatly appericated.

I was able to get the spots out of my top so I didn't buy a new one, but in the future I will get it from them.

I wouldn't worry about the rear glass breaking. As many convertibles with glass tops that were made, when's the last time you heard of someone breaking it?
Of course, if stupid people weren't around, Yamaha wouldn't have to put the warning about putting **** cavities near the pump on a jetski... GEESH

I've been quoted $750 for a local Corvette shop to purchase and install one for me.

Seems like it would be prety tough to break the glass while putting it up or down.
It's hard to break with blunt objects that aren't a bunch harder than wood, for instance.
