Be careful removing the unit- the wiring loom attachment is in the back of the instrument panel. Be careful of the connectors and dont pry at the panel to remove one, as it will probably break. The repair will probably be under $500.00.
Or you could try ARTS corvettes in Fort Lauderdale and see if he has a used one cheaper :)

Are you sure the cluster is bad? You can pick one up off ebay for decent price. I would suggest findind a 92 or 93, the 94-96 will have white lettering, but they will work. Here's a 92 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33675 From -=Jeff=- FYI to those swapping clusters
90-91 Are interchangeable with each other (L98 and ZR1)
92-96 Are interchangeable with each other (LT1, LT4, and ZR1)
The 92-96 will not work in the 90-91 or vice versa UNLESS you swap the LCD Panel.
The LCD panel for 90-91 is different for 92-96.
I have a 96 LT4 cluster in my 91 Dash but I am using my 91 LCD Panel in the cluster

does the cluster keep the mileage memorized or does the ecm/pcm do that i got to change my cluster out to and i was wondering if i got one out of a higher mileage vette would it show in my car

The ECM/PCM keeps the mileage recorded.You can change clusters with no problems there.
