 I'm right behind ya! I'm sitting just over 229K right now, and will probably turn 230K this week!
And you're right! The LT1's an AWSOME engine!!! In all those miles, it's never left me stranded, and it's NEVER been open...unless i WANTED it open! :D
My 1985 Z51 is very close to achieving 144,000 miles.
My daughter-in-law's 1998 Honda Accord had 262,000 miles on Thanksgiving day.
Keep on driving. :steering: :steering: :steering:
I've got 197,000 miles on my 92 V6 Camaro. It's still got the original engine and transmission. Most reliable car I've owned. I'm about to hit 80K in my 87 Vette. Considering It had 60K when I bought it back in March, I'm sure it will see 100K by this time next year....
 Thanks for the response guys. BTW L98s are just as good and will go just as far. Guess how I know? Because I've got one of them to with 200K on the clock. :seeya

Re: Turned 230K Today! (crheinish)
Very cool. I've never heard of one getting much past 200k and even that's a milestone. But 230....I have to admit...that's pretty impressive considering these are HIGH performance engines. And of all of em, I'd think it would be an L98, not an LT-1......LT's are a little more complicated so that's a surprise in itself. Congrats. Any special maintenance tips for the rest of us?

Re: Turned 230K Today! (crheinish)
 , but i have to ask; did you drive it hard? alot, sometimes, never?
Are you kidding me, I slap the loud pedal every chance I get!
WOW!!!! and he guns it regularly? I know if you don't drive these engines they go to crap, but quite possibly the more you drive em, the better they perform. That's been the same in my case, I'm at 130k with an engine swap planned soon for a 383. I got mine with 90k on it 2 years ago. It sounded good, but now it sounds honestly about 5 times better than it used to with all the things I did. It's kinda wierd cuz my stepdad doesn't know why I'd rip out such a healthy sounding engine, but I wanna do heavier mods and it kinda bothers me to put em on an older engine. It's pretty cool to know there are some out there with way more miles and it still sounds great. I also would like to comment that I do gun it every once in a while and I believe that's what's keeping it sounding so well. I kinda doubted that belief though ...until now.

Mobil 1 every 5K, tune up (plugs/wires) including fuel filter every 2 years, & change tranny fluid every year. Of course fuel injection, over-drive transmission, & 2.59 gears don't hurt either.

Great! my 86 L-98 has only 127k, just a baby compared to some of the mileage figures I reading here... :hurray:
