Re: 87 on ebay (keith67)
According to my book, paint code 53, gold metallic, 397 built with interior colors of either graphite or saddle. Or it could be paint code 66, copper metallic, 87 built with the same color interior choices.
Just looked at it again and they say it is one of 87, so copper metallic it is!

Its a nice looking car, but were CD players an option in '87? Were any CD players even around in '87? Also, he says its a "Bose." I've seen lots of "Bose" car stereos and they all have the little "Delco Bose" emblem on them and this one doesn't; plus, the CD player looks alot newer than '87.
i like that color. looks like a really clean car too
i have a question tho...in this pic of the dash, it has a OD light lit up. should there be one on my 86 because i've never saw it. does it come on when the shifter is in the OD position or maybe when the lock up torque convertor kicks in? sorry don't mean to hijack the thread. just curious
it looks like a real nice car-the od light i do not think is really on, looks like the dash is washed out where everything is lit up when it is on, this happens when they get alot of sun on them

Re: 87 on ebay (keith67)
Average mpg looks kinda low. My 87's average in the last 4,000 miles of back road and city driving in 22.8mpg. Could be just a nice detailing job covering up an abused drivetrain. I hope the future buyer has it thoroughly checked out. I do like the color! :lurk:

( I think thats the 4+3 OD light. I have an 86 chip in my 87 and that light is on any time the key is on. Goes out when I put in the 87 chip.
Nice vette ! The only thing I see in need of replacing are the door panels, steering wheel and getting a corvette emblem on the valve cover. Other than that it looks pretty immaculate ! :yesnod: The color is nice as well. Don't see any of those around.
no, that dont make any sents to me either. It appears to be a good deal, and, I've bookmarked these guys and have been watching their auctions for some time.. They've had some good kleen cars. Did you bid?

that's what i thought at first, but the car is an automatic  maybe it has just got lots of sun altho it only has 128 miles. the light has never came on my dash ever so i was just wanting to know. :smash:

Just my opinion.
I looked in the black book under the list of options and did not see a CD player option. The stereo option was simply listed as "Stereo System, Delco Bose". No other detail.
It's a decent looking '87, but at 128K miles and normal wear, I don't see it going much more than "maybe" $6K. Rare colors aren't necessarily a huge attraction, although it looks nice. And the cloth seats could be a turnoff.
Be interesting to see if it even hits much over $5K.
