The past week I had to use the door key to get in the car. Im thinking the battery in the alarmpad is bad. What I also dont understand is the car doesnt lock the doors automatically when I walk away like it use to. How can I fix this? Is there a way to reset the alarm? Thanks for any help
Check your manual. I believe it states that if you hold down the doorlock button on your keypad for 5 secs, within transmitting distance of the receiver of the car, it will turn off the passive key entry mode. Try to hold down the key lock button for 5 secs, again within the receiver range of the car, and see what happens. Good luck!!
Just a quick .02, I recently had to replace the two batteries in my fobs, and the dealer no longer can get the Sanyo CR2450 battery. This CR2450 should be the same as all the other CR2450s (or DR if it's Durecell) but it's not :mad . Sanyo has a recessed lip around the edge of the battery allowing it to snap into and underneath the clip in the fob. Others will not snap in so easily. Be very careful if trying one of the other brands. I've already broke one of the fob's clips, and I imagine that with enough "effort", the little "mother board" can easily crack, leaving you with a $120 useless PKE fob.
Anyway, good luck.
Same thing happened to my '95, manual says to put the key in the ignition and cycle twice thru locking and unlocking using the fob. Keyless now works as well as before the problem.

:iagree: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: Eveready CR2450 has a sharper lip than Duracell, and fits better.
