I was looking........
I was looking at my moms 84 Vette tonight and it says it was made feb. of 83. If they already had them made that early there is no reason why there was not a 83 corvette . What do you think?

The C4 was ready to late to make normal 83 model year introductions. Calling them all 84 model cars reduced the paperwork and cost of Federal Certifications. So just as the 69 Camaro was made for 1.5 years, the 84 Corvette was made for 1.5 years, and there are a lot of them out there.
Dave Mclellan's book " Corvette from the Inside " is very interesting reading especially for the history of the C4. Dave also fills in the blanks on engineering choices that make the C4 so compelling even today.
