I will shop around. The Chevy dealer in town here wants 35.00 a key. I think he's off his rocker. The ignition key maybe, but not the door key :mad :cuss
If you've got the resistor pellet on the ignition key (which you do on a '91), then you're gonna pay some bucks. This key, p/n 26019394, lists (retail) at GM for $27.93 and goes wholesale for $20.95. Often if you're part of a Corvette club, a dealer will sell you the key at wholesale ... that's what I got it for at a local dealer.
The door key, p/n 1154605, lists for $1.84 and is wholesale at $1.38.
I recently got key copies for both my coupes ... it was expensive, but it costs less than what it would cost me to break into the car if my one and only set of keys got locked inside

Re: Ignition/Door keys (SkunkCar)
Hey, Skunker, I've thought about the second set of keys (my Corvette came with two sets) but, criminy, that one transmitter makes a large-enough load in my jeans pocket, let alone carrying around TWO!!!!
Do you stash the second set on the car somwhere? If so, where?

You coat the keys with a thin layer of grease, and wrap 'em in a tissue. Then you put them in a plastic bag. Next put the bag in a small airtight tin (tobacco tin?).
Finally wrap the tin in a waterproof grease tape.( I use stuff called "Denso"- it is like bandage impregnated with grey/green petroleum grease - sold for rainpipe /gutter repairs)
All you need to do now, is to crawl under the car with some plastic zip ties, and hide the rascal.

Oh, I don't carry two sets around with me  Just one. I leave the spare set at home. It's just that when I had only one set of keys for a car, it made me nervous ... hated the idea of having to break a window to get into the one and only set of keys.
But, I do suppose stashing a separate set of keys somewhere hidden on the car would be a good idea, as suggested above.
You can get a replacement door key that is cut into a special credit card sized peice of plastic. Then you just keep it in your wallet.I think walmart still sells these. If you lock your keys in the car but have your wallet, your still good. :chevy
Lost my spare set of keys about two months after buying 89 vette, bought a set of keys at chevy dealer for $24.00. Dealer had ignition key in stock, which was a nice surprise! :chevy
