They're taking pre-orders right now ... it's due to ship in April. I figure for $9.99 and free shipping, even if the game is "ok", I can't go wrong.
If you're familiar with the Gran Turismo game, then you know how incredibly detailed the games can be, and how well the game programmers take into consideration the suspension, g-forces, and other performance factors. Besides being fun, they force you to consider all the factors of high performance driving. But, still it's nuthin' like the real thing ;)
I got it the other day... It's ok, not terribly realistic and it sounds like they used the same exhaust sound for the C1-C4. C5 sounds different. They also used the same dash for the ZR1 and LT1, which is lame since you are missing out on almost 2k rpm.
For the $20 I spent, I was not expecting much, but I was a little disappointed to have my thoughts confirmed.
Preordered mine from EB back when the PS2 version was due out in Nov. Was hoping to get it in time for Christmas. Since it's not due out till after the first of the year now, I was really HOPING they were planing on adding the C6 to the mix! :D For $9.99, I don't expect much.
Now I could be wrong but I am under the impression that the $10 is a "deposit" to preorder the game and the remaining payment will be due when the game is actually available. Most PS2 games sell new for $40-50 and even the old ones don't sell new for as low as $10. That seems to be more logical. Even some really bad games aren't that cheap.
$9.99 was the FULL price plus shipping on EB. Came to about $11 something. I still have the original ad and receipt so I'm NOT paying any more for it! :D
Pre-ordered mine from EB 9.99 plus1.99 ship/handling, total price. I pre-ordered back in october and they keep pushing it back. Last e-mail from EB (about 2 weeks ago) said release date is now 2/24/2003. We'll see.
Just bought the Xbox version for 19 at BB. Its not great but not bad. Cars seem mushy in the corners.......sloppy if you will. SFX sound pretty good, still a keeper
I bought the XBOX version of 19.99 i like it. Yes it is not as good as PGR or GT3 but for 20 bucks you cant go wrong. It is more fun to me then the other games. WELL worth the 20 bucks
