Gotta say I like them all!

I have an 84 (it gets a bad rap) but she runs like a dream! the two things I love about it are:

1) It gets lots of looks and compliments
2) I own it! (probably the best part)

She came with the Z51 package from GM...I gotta tell ya, hitting curves and finding a winding road are the cats butt!

Would I pass on a good deal for a C5? maybe- I just don't want any more payments!

Cheers!

Can't argue with that. Would be nice to have one of each! :)
Then do it, no need to sell one to get the other. Never ever sell a car to get another, you sell your car if you need money(and not money for another car), you sell your car if it's been wrecked, you sell your car if you have no room left in your driveway, you selll your car if you are going bankrupt and really need some cash, but you never sell your car to replcae it with another. Add to your collection,

The Stingrays are the best looking Corvettes ever.
C-4's best performance for the money. C-5's still over priced and they don't have a good resale.
C-6 it looks like the C-5 will be with us for a while.
There won't be much difference between the C-5 C-6.

Hey Mr. Mojo,

I like your thinking. But I'm just a working stiff and already have 3 Vettes. What I should do is buy the '95 that is exactly like mine only with a six speed. Then I would have the best of both worlds and could afford it.

There you go, you got me beat. Get the '95 six speed!

(BTW, I sold two cars last year, one that had been sitting in my driveway for 18 years and hadn't moved in 8 years and the other was my beat up old truck, but I mainly sold themto make the room):D

I like my 86! But my draem is to go back to a C1 as in 60,61,or 62!
But I do like them all!
I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with the fact that the new C6 don't have flip up headlights? :nonod: That's about as a tradition as is the 4 taillights! :yesnod:

You mean like the "pop up" headlights on the 60,61 or 62? :jester I like the fact that the headlights are non pop up, but I don't like the ones on the C6, they should have made flip arounds like the 63-67.

I love my C4, especially now that I have finished the engine mods. The C5 has merits, but never blew me away as a must have.

The C6 is godawful sharp. It reminds me of the first 63 I saw parked on the streets of San Francisco. The C6 has IT. God I want one!

C4 - I have always loved the C4. It's the generation of Corvette that was "new" when I was growing up. I love the way the car looks.

C5 - Much more advanced then the C4. I don't care for the looks as much as the C4.

C6 - The styling would be great if it was 1997 or if it was considered a redo of the C5 and not the C6. I just can't get over how much this car looks like the C5. The HP and other performance changes are great, though.

C4's are almost perfect if you cant afford a C5. C5's are almost perfect if you cant afford a C6. C6's are almost perfect if you have a C5 and a C4 in your fleet. Perfection is a having the full collection starting with the C1 to the C6 with a six car garage with your wifes car sitting outside and she doesn't even mind. in fact she takes great pleasure in waxing the fleet which also turns her on.

I love my C4 its almost perfect :auto:

:iagree: and the C4 has the best looking rear end (no junk in the trunk like the C5 does). Plus the C4 saved the Corvette from extinction.

The C6 has some improvements in the rear end but then they slap that dark grey plastic junk on it like the Avalanche. How sick is that?

I agree wholeheartedly, the C6 is more of a mid year C5. Nothing radically different. The headlights are a major disappointment. Did all their good designers retire?

Now you won't be able to distinguish a C6 coming head on, it'll look like a Viper, Eclipse, SU2000 or nearly every other foreign job.

No one has mentioned price yet I wonder how much beyond the Z06 price they will start at?

And they had to up the HP equation, nearly new everything on the road now is at or pushing 300 HP. Heck there are 4 cylinders banging out 260 these days.

Mojo is right on the money. Add to the stock, don't replace. You'll end up like my neighbor a few houses down, traded her paid for 93 C4 for a 98 C5, lost her job couldn't make the payments and ended up with a Hyundai. And now regretting every moment for dumping the perfect running C4.

I don't know how this could be confused with a Viper.

Personnally I like the headlights. The flip-ups were getting old.

The price is just about the same as a comparable C5... MSRP base $47,000.

I like it. I'll wait for the '06 Z06 and then I'll have 3; '86, '96, and the '06 Z06. :D The only dilema I'll have is which one to drive.

I gotta agree with Jet Jocky, the nose is pretty generic. Nothing about it screams Vette. The rest of it looks pretty good though. I'll reserve final judgement for actually seeing one in the flesh and how it stands the passage of time. I love my 95 and if I never have a different / newer Vette I'm perfectly content.

Well just to be fair:

There is similarity. Which is my point, its not revolutionary or evolutionary. Its just incorporating fixed Xenon High-Intensity Discharge lamps in a "high-tech" package. And my contention is that if everyone else is doing it that way, why did the designers not choose to come up with a more ingenius way of hiding the lamps when not in use but rather chose to follow and not lead? Which brings me to, that $47K Corvette is no different than the $12K Cavalier or a $18K Toyota.

Sorry to offend but its just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not intending to trash the vehicle, I've read all that I could find out there and its impressive the changes they have made. I'm sure it will look good in person. Besides its just forum rhetorical :bs for our own entertainment.

That's the way the new C6 is, whether some like it or not. And with a $47K base price tag, its out of my range. And that is a fact not an opinion LOL.
