C4 VS C5 VS C6
I have an 84 (it gets a bad rap) but she runs like a dream! the two things I love about it are:
1) It gets lots of looks and compliments
2) I own it! (probably the best part)
She came with the Z51 package from GM...I gotta tell ya, hitting curves and finding a winding road are the cats butt!
Would I pass on a good deal for a C5? maybe- I just don't want any more payments!
Cheers!

C-4's best performance for the money. C-5's still over priced and they don't have a good resale.
C-6 it looks like the C-5 will be with us for a while.
There won't be much difference between the C-5 C-6.
I like your thinking. But I'm just a working stiff and already have 3 Vettes. What I should do is buy the '95 that is exactly like mine only with a six speed. Then I would have the best of both worlds and could afford it.

(BTW, I sold two cars last year, one that had been sitting in my driveway for 18 years and hadn't moved in 8 years and the other was my beat up old truck, but I mainly sold themto make the room):D
But I do like them all!
I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with the fact that the new C6 don't have flip up headlights? :nonod: That's about as a tradition as is the 4 taillights! :yesnod:

The C6 is godawful sharp. It reminds me of the first 63 I saw parked on the streets of San Francisco. The C6 has IT. God I want one!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
C5 - Much more advanced then the C4. I don't care for the looks as much as the C4.
C6 - The styling would be great if it was 1997 or if it was considered a redo of the C5 and not the C6. I just can't get over how much this car looks like the C5. The HP and other performance changes are great, though.
I love my C4 its almost perfect :auto:

The C6 has some improvements in the rear end but then they slap that dark grey plastic junk on it like the Avalanche. How sick is that?
I agree wholeheartedly, the C6 is more of a mid year C5. Nothing radically different. The headlights are a major disappointment. Did all their good designers retire?
Now you won't be able to distinguish a C6 coming head on, it'll look like a Viper, Eclipse, SU2000 or nearly every other foreign job.
No one has mentioned price yet I wonder how much beyond the Z06 price they will start at?
And they had to up the HP equation, nearly new everything on the road now is at or pushing 300 HP. Heck there are 4 cylinders banging out 260 these days.
Mojo is right on the money. Add to the stock, don't replace. You'll end up like my neighbor a few houses down, traded her paid for 93 C4 for a 98 C5, lost her job couldn't make the payments and ended up with a Hyundai. And now regretting every moment for dumping the perfect running C4.
:seeya

I like em all :steering:
Man they are all corvettes and they are are equally beautiful

Personnally I like the headlights. The flip-ups were getting old.
The price is just about the same as a comparable C5... MSRP base $47,000.
I like it. I'll wait for the '06 Z06 and then I'll have 3; '86, '96, and the '06 Z06. :D The only dilema I'll have is which one to drive.

There is similarity. Which is my point, its not revolutionary or evolutionary. Its just incorporating fixed Xenon High-Intensity Discharge lamps in a "high-tech" package. And my contention is that if everyone else is doing it that way, why did the designers not choose to come up with a more ingenius way of hiding the lamps when not in use but rather chose to follow and not lead? Which brings me to, that $47K Corvette is no different than the $12K Cavalier or a $18K Toyota.
Sorry to offend but its just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not intending to trash the vehicle, I've read all that I could find out there and its impressive the changes they have made. I'm sure it will look good in person. Besides its just forum rhetorical :bs for our own entertainment.
That's the way the new C6 is, whether some like it or not. And with a $47K base price tag, its out of my range. And that is a fact not an opinion LOL.
