Re: Some interesting facts about corvettes (1STVETTE90)
With the CB craze dwindling, the last year a CB radio was offered as a Corvette option was 1985. Only 16 Corvettes were so equipped.
Only 53 1996 Grand Sport Convertibles were built with the Red/Black interior option.

Re: Some interesting facts about corvettes (SharkInShark)
Good reading......there is a mistake ( I can't believe it came from Rogers ) about the small area on the 96 GS coupes between the hatch roof and window panel. It states that the early models had the tape/decal because of paint prep problems when in truth they had paint. All the others had tape/decals on them (mine included) according to John Heinricy the engineer that was active in the development of the GS. Its also 2 inches wide if you account for the wrap factor. Some more interesting facts about the 96 GS, only11 of the 53 red int. GS verts were made with the FE1 base Suspensions, early pilot cars had taped on flares, and they tossed around an idea to make a special corvette with purple tint windows and a paint scheme of "Night Mist Purple".

Myron Scott was not a GM "Chief Photographer" when he came up with the Corvette name. He worked for the company that had GM's advertising account. (See his interview in a 2003 Car & Driver)
It also says that the C5 was the first Corvette designed from the ground up as a Corvette. Huh??? I'd say that honor has to go to the C4 (if not the C2).
