this has been posted about 100 times. but since the forum search is not working, need info PLEASE. I have a 1992 coupe, my int lights stay on while i drive close the doors, and at night it sounds the alarm off. it might be a poss switch or the box on the passener side, How i test these two? and possable ideas what else it could be ? and where is that box located at ?
Check both door switches as well as the hatch switch.
This happened to me, in my case it was the hatch switch. I replaced it, problem solved until I used my hatch vent, then the switch broke again(internally somehow), so I replaced it again, worked fine until I used the hatch vent. So this time since I was on the road, I removed the trim panel and simply unplugged the switch. Problem solved again and I don't use the hatch vent anymore.
Unplugging the hatch switch doesn't affect any other part of the car, but to be correct, you'll want to replace it. Same goes for the door switches, everyone says to pull the pin out, that's a temporary fix at best. If it can be pulled out, then it can be pushed back in just as easily if not easier.
thanks mojo, i have the hatch disconnented right now and still have trouble. i guess i will klook at door pins next then go from there, thank for the help. any more info pass it by
