Sorry if this is a repeat, I can't find it!!! Dash speaker cloth has turned an obnoxious blue. Covers are apparently discontinued. I was going to try a household dye such as RIT. Any better ideas, or bad experiences???? Also, the previous owner of my '88 apparently didn't like the hood bowtie emblem, and replaced it with a newer vette crossed flags. He apparently cut the posts off, and glued it on...Am I doomed to keep this, or is there some way I can get the emblem off without the paint joining it??? Thanks
I doubt you can find a solvent that will relese the glue and not damage surrounding paint.
You might scribe a line around the emblem and pry it off, touch up the paint and lay the correct emblem down. Or you could seek the help of a reputable local body shop.
Hey thanks, I had used this stuff on my molding, and it worked great....The only thing I should have added to my post is that when I said speaker grilles, I meant the fabric...Do you think this stuff will work on fabric??????
The speakers can be painted with satin black paint. I got mine from NAPA.
Works great. Try some Goo-Gone on the emblem. Get a piece of wire like the first or second string on a guitar, after the Goo-Gone soaks, try to "cut" the adhesive with the string. Be very patient. :yesnod:
