It seems the key to my wheel locks no longer fits. I need to get the locks removed. Most tire places dont want to touch it in fear of damaging the wheel And the dealer wants $85 to remove them. Please tell me that that is not my only option.
Keep trying tire stores. I had mine removed by a local branch of a chain of tire stores but I called about 6 places before I found on that would do it.
It cost me about $40 at California labor rates so you should be able to beat that.
When you do not have the key???

???? Can you remind it how it used to fit with a little gentle hammer work?
Try Discount tire of someplace like that,,, they removed ones for me after i got my car with no keys for $5.00 a tire... you could prob buy the type of socket... its slotted and they just hammer it on, then break it loose... no damage....here

:iagree: That's the best way to do it when their stripped out. A slightly smaller 1/2" throw down socket is the best bet. With it beening 1/2" you can get a breaker bar on it for good leverage. It will come off just for the cost of the socket.
:iagree:
same thing happened on mine.....
lost the lugnut key....
so i picked up 4 cheap sockets that where slightly smaller than the wheellock..., hamered them on carefully..... and was able to break them loose with my ratchet.....
I guess it'll just depend on the type of wheellock you have.... as to wether or not this method will work for you....
