Question about airbag system ....
? is when replacing the airbag do u have to replace the sensors that are mounts on the frame? i know you have to replace the module that gets the signal from the sensors to set the bag off. but does this mess the sensors up to ?? :cheers:

Interesting. I assume you are talking about a Derm that has a fault in it and will not explode?
I would think the sensors would be the same and no need to change them.
But then again, I have limited airbag knowledge. I've just rebuilt a few inner switches and reassmeble them.

having researched this from top to bottom, this is the awnser from the general. when an event occors (accident) and the bags deploy, all parts must be replaced. including the sensors, derm, and bags. having said that, the sensors ar like frog tounges inside. they roll out when an accident happens, touch the other side (both have to touch at the same instant), then roll back in. check them out with an ohmeter, if you get an infinite amount of resistance they should be ok. the derm is toast no matter what :cheers:
