If you could do it all over again, what kind of vette would you buy? Color schemes? Interior style? etc...I would have to say 1989 Z51 Navy Blue Metallic Auto Coupe with Saddle interior and painted top. No regrets on the car you have now, just a question....Anyone else???
Keeping within my budget at the time (November 1997), I would have held out for a Z07-equipped car. I love my black/lt. beige 6-speed, but the autocross suspension is the only thing that would have made it sweeter :yesnod: :chevy
If I was in the market today with the same budget, I'd go for a 1998 Z51 coupe :steering:

I love the way our vettes can handle. But I was about 10 minutes off of buying a '68 454 off an old hot rod mechanic who built it for himself. And was selling off his toys. Rockcrusher 4 spd, black/black, fresh paint, 1k miles on the drivetrain. Ohh did I mention it was 12k. and the guy who bought it before me got it for 10.5...

LT4. Artic White or Black with Torch Red interior, or Admiral Blue w/ Light Gray interior. Coupe or convertible, either one.
No doubt if I had known more about the LT4 I would have held out for one, but I blundered accross this '95 owned privately by the warranty and finance mgr of a local Chevy dealership. She had only 27K miles and 18mo/21K miles remaining on a transferable bumper-to-bumper GMPP Major Guard ext warranty. She was my fave color combo, was looking for a 'vert at the time, the rest is history :)
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (-=Persephone=-)
probably buy one without as many needs. have most of them done now, buttttttt, there is always something. mine is a red 90 with just the basics. :jester
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (belmor)
Probably the 96 LT4 a friend sold last summer.Bought it new, lost interest, let it set in the garageuntil the tires went flat, then sold it.It only had 17,000 miles.
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (-=Persephone=-)
Same car, just a year newer w/LT4. OR, a I'd have saved some $$ and then found a GS. But, there's always time for that  . (I hope my car didn't hear me say this!!!)
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (-=Persephone=-)
I would have bought a vette that was rare. My 86 is nicely restored/modded, but it is just another 86 vette. I would have went for an annivesary edition, or a rare color, or ZR1, etc. That is why I am hoping to do some serious research before I add a "C5" this spring/summer. I want to get the best car for the price I can afford. I didn't shop around enough before I bought my 86. I won't make that mistake again as I am starting to look for a used C5 vette. :)
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (-=Persephone=-)
I love my 94 LT1 6 speed but for as much as I drive it ( not much ) I dream about having a 69 triple black vert 4spd big block. My buddys dad had one when we were in high school. (over twenty years ago). I rode in it one time. His dad took me out and ran it through the gears. Scared the crap out of me! What a rocket ship. or should I say rattle ship. That car was cool !
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (-=Persephone=-)
In 1992, my '87 was a 5 year old car with 30K on the clock. Dark Red Metallic Vert with a graphite interior.........yeowie.......it was all wanted in a Vette so I bought it. :D
At this stage of my life I can afford to drive anything, but this car is still all I want
Re: If you could do it all over again.... (Caboboy)
Really love the LT4 just wish it was a vert. It's really hard to find the perfect vette when you live in a small market area. Also would have liked to kept my charcoal metalic 90. Loved that color, but the budget said :nonod: :nonod:
