My 96 auto with a 3.07 rear gets about 17mpg with a about a 75/25 city/highway mix and plenty of right pedal bursts. Highway, I'd say around 24-25mpg. I think with a little more discipline, I could get mid to high teens in city driving....
1995 auto I get 17 in city! If it's gas mileage don't look at Corvette! I use 93 octane so there is more cost. Between us Corvette members the insurance could be a more sticking point with mom. Hope you get it good luck and let us all know!
Looking a vette now cus my Firebird only gets 12-14mpg, city, and like 20 highway, so now i got a good reason to explain to her that i need to get this car :D
The window sticker EPA estimates are 17 city and 24 highway for my 93 LT1. I'm getting with a normal mix of local in town (30-45 mph) and highway (55-80 mph) 18.4 city and 26 highway. So even at 105K its still holding its own.
I pull better instantaneous mpgs at highway but choose to state the low end. I've noticed that if one can cruise slightly higher than the posted 70 it seems to get better. For example the complete consumption on a 150 mile trip at 65 vs 80, the higher speed seems more efficient.
I don't drive for fuel economy, but I'd say around 22 MPG with mostly highway driving, and putting my foot into it a lot. The city might be around 18 or so. I'd probably have 2-4 MPG more if I drove strickly to conserve fuel... but then, what's the point?
