A few weeks back the wife doing 80 had a semi lose a recap and couldn't avoid it aside from the footwell damage, it busted up the rocker panel on the 85. How difficult to replace? and how does it come off?
Re: ALMOST A CRASH, REPLACING ROCKER PANEL HELP! (ROCKY85)
Rocky,
Not too difficult. I took mine off to clean the undercarriage. There are about 4-5 torx screws in the door jamb. Then there are about 6-7 screws underneath the rocker panel. If I remember correctly, the two screws at the bottom of the front wheel well have to be removed also. The most difficult part is, there is one screw holding the rocker panel to the rear quarter panel... Very difficult to get to... Mine actually broke off, but once I put the rocker panels back on, I saw no ill effects from that miising screw. But beware when removing the rocker panel and you think all the screws are off, thats the one still hanging it up!!! I tugged on the panels several times and it just popped off because it was rusted. I didn't bother to attempt to replace it because it looked fine once re-assembled ecxept for that screw. Good luck!!

84 White gave the right info. The hidden screws in the back had me for awhile also. I managed to get them out and back in alright. You'll be working in a tight space so using the right tool will make all the difference. I used a stubby screwdriver rachet in those spots.
