In less than a year I'll be off to college and moving out of the house into my own apartment. The whole time that I've had this beautiful car, I've paid the insurance, gas, and repairs. Seeing as that I'll be having an apartment payment and utilities and things of this nature, I had planned on selling it after a few minors things done to it. But then again, eventhough it breaks down, and it's old, it's a corvette and it was my first car so it has its sentimental value to me. So I say this, I either sell it and buy something else that's a little cheaper to maintain, OR keep it, mod it, and restore it. Anyone?
As much as it pained me to do, I had to vote for selling the Vette. I think if you were to get rid of the Vette for now, you would have it easier. Nothing says you can't find an F-Body that is cheaper to own that has an LT1 motor in it. :D Heck, if you can find a 92 Rustang GT, I'd pick one of those up. Parts are cheap, easy to fix, and mods are cheap. Its a lot of hp for not much dough. :D Good luck!!
Same situation I was in a few months ago. I tried doing the college thing with a vette for a year and it was not happening. I sold it and now i got a nice chunk of change in the bank for a new car when i graduate. :auto:
I voted for you to keep it. I had a 91 in college, and it was fantastic. The only downside is when you get smashed and someone else has to drive you home in it - especially if they're short girls that can't reach the pedals. :D
dont sell it i did the same thing sold my first vet and had dreams i was driving it ,would wake up and no vet a total nightmare, took me 15 years to get another .WHATEVER IT TAKES KEEP IT ,LIFE IS TO SHORT ........... :chevy
Unless it is a Zr-1 or something special, sell it. There are so many C4s out there, you can always get into another one, probably newer or nicer than the one you have now.
Just looked at the car on your page. Really nice. Tough call but unless the 35th anniversary edition is your dream car, I would still sell it. After college your taste in cars might change anyway.
Sentimentality may not last. If you you really like Vetts, sell it and get yourself squared away for school. There are so many beautiful Vetts out just waiting for you when you ready.
Good Luck
Your education is what is most important at this stage of your life. Just think of how many Vettes you will be able to own when you are making the big $$$$

Follow your heart :D think of it this way-you'll be (or should be) studying more
and driving less  I started college and quit 3 times before I finally graduated-heck, they may even have a auto shop at your college :D
Good luck-I'm sure you'll make the right decission for you! :auto:
I wish I still had my first car. Just think what it would be worth today! It wasn't a Vette even. Get yourself a beater and keep the Vette. Someday you will have the $$ to restore/modify and enjoy it like you can't even imagine today.
