Hidden Antenna
Hey folks, my power antenna busted a while ago and I just haven't got the time to take it off and trying to fix it. I just happened to come up with a site that advertises a hidden antenna system from Autoloc and was wondering if anyone have install this in their car. Just wanted to know if the reception is good. Thanks!
Looks kinda cool, what was the site name? BTW I read the story on it, but can't find the mag now. Car had damage in rear and they put the antenna inside the dash and filled the hole in the rear.

I believe the site is http://www.autoloc.com Even if you try google search online with "hidden antenna" you'd find other stores that sells this cheaper than the autoloc site.
I've heard mixed reviews from some of my fellow sport truckers. I think it all depends on how strong of a signal you are looking for and I hear it's all about placement.
I have one just like it on my windshield right on the top center. I ran the wire under the header and pillar support plastic straight to the radio. With the hole in the rear panel I just left it untouched just in case I wanted to switch back to stock. I did this ever since my antenna motor gave up. Just look at your big chain auto store and they should have them.
They sell a windshield antenna at Radio Shack for about $5. It plugs into your antenna jack and runs under your dash to the passinger windsheild. A very thin wire with clear tape runs up the side of your windshield and acroos the top. It is invisable unless you really look for it. I have had it on my Vette since 1998 and the reception is great. :steering:
Man, that's one of my next moves. pull out that long antenna, close the hole and put in the hidden one. I think it will look good, the only problem is reception for those who live in mountain area's. They do however have a power version that will boost reception..
