Passive keyless Entry - 94 vet
If you're lucky, it's become unprogrammed or you accidentally disabled the system. The owner's manual has the steps for turning it back on and for reprogamming the fob to the car.
If you're unlucky (like I was) the PKE receiver, which is buried under the dash, has gone bad and needs replacement.
I had actually reprogrammed the fob on a couple of times and like other posts it worked for a short period. After the last programming stopped working the light came on and has remained on. Since the transmitter will not work I cannot try turning the system on . Does this sound similar to your problem?
Did you replace the receiver yourself or pay to have it done? If you don't mind, what did it cost you?
Thanks,
BTW/ I posted FOB programing instructions in the tech section but don't know if they are there yet.

I replaced the receiver myself. You have to remove the dash cap - the PKE receiver is located behind the radio/heater controls. It's a PITA job and you have to be very careful not to pull on the dash before ALL the fasteners and tabs are off or else you end up breaking these connecting points and the dash will squaek and rattle. I went real slow and careful and it took a whole weekend to do it the first time, but now that I'm familiar, I could probably do it in 4 hours.
The PKE receiver goes for ~$200 at the dealer, but I got lucky and found an unused one on ebay for $50.
It is very similar to another post that said he had to replace the receiver. I am going to install a new radio since my CD is not working so I will also replace the receiver. Sounds like that will fix the problem.
Thanks,
Paul
