I bought a Red Top last year from Autozone. I think it was around $110.
This is the same battery we use in our generators on base and they only get ran up once a month. You will have to check their home page for the difference between colors.
I just changed my battery over the weekend and got the Optima Red Top. Got it at Murrays, $119.00 + $7.00 core charge, which got refunded when I returned my old core.
There are TWO different Red Tops. One has a #34 in it. It does not fit right, the posts are too close together, at least for my 96, not sure on other years. There is another Red Top with #78 in it, that one fits, the posts are wider apart.
I will not go back to a regular battery. Over a few months storage I found too much acid and corrosion. With Optima I will never have that problem again.
If you get an Optima battery be sure to get one with side posts only. I bought one for my 95 and it would not fit the top post hit a metal bracket that I think supports the cruise control unit. Hank
Hmmmm! I visited the OPTIMA web site and found there are NO MATCHES for a 1989-1995 16 valve Corvette or a 1990-1995 32 valve Corvette. So, I'm not sure I'd try to fit one in my '93.
Thanks for all of your help! Now my question....same as senior...which one to get as the website says there are no available matches for my vette (90 L98). If you guys would post which model number you are getting in red top and yellow top I would appreciate it. Do you think Sam's or BJ's carries them at a cheaper price than Auto Zone or Advance? Thanks again! :)
