.....anyone know anything about thompson astro tops out of alabama for c4's?..........

My only experience with the Astro-Tops was with my old '79. Their T-Tops were perfect for what I was looking for. However, I have read previous posts on the C4 forums and have heard negative responses about their targa tops. I would HIGHLY recommend you looking at Melrose T-Tops. I bought one of theirs at last year's Corvettes at Carlisle and I have been VERY pleased with the quality. They use GM frames and the look and fit are excellent

What are some of the issues with the Thompson Astro tops? It is great to say stay away from them, but why?

I do not have first hand experience with their C4 tops. I have only read comments here on the Forum. You might do a search to get specific details. The one that I remember being mentioned a lot is that Astro uses a cheap plastic molding around the glass that tends to be come off too easy. Plus significantly cheaper overall construction of the top. Probably why you can get it at a much lower cost!! Like with most things.....You get what you pay for!! :yesnod:
