What's the best product to use for cleaning up the silver ac compressor and alternator? Mine look a little dingy.
Thanks, Michael

Re: Cleaning ac compressor and alternator? (GS057)
I need to do the same... My last LT1 was almost like new under the hood... The LT4 could use a little help... I think whoever owned it before me never cleaned under the hood... I got to it at the dealer before it even made it to the prep department and out to the lot... When I looked under the hood it appeared that the previous owner never washed the engine... The whole thing was covered with a light coating of oily residue and dust/dirt...
So after getting it cleaned up, I see that I need to clean the A/C compressor and the Alternator... The only real drawback I've seen so far under the hood is that the plenum is stained a little bit... It looks like only on the top where it's silver and clear coated...
I'm almost tempted to take a dremmel and a wire brush to the A/C and ALT to see how that works... I've polished aluminum pieces that way before...
Watch the dremel my friend.....I just did that to mine, and it came out nice and clean, but wavy. Of course, I used the wire wheel attachment because I wanted it finished asap!!!!!!!!! Someone told me carb cleaner or simply green works well, only a little tedious....I wish I tried that first!!!!!!!! :cry
