Default A cooling switch question.

How are you cooling down your vettes. Ecklers has a cooling switch for $40.00
dollars that will bring the fan on at 200 and off at 185 degrees. Are these things any good or should I go another route?

Thanks
Goose. Keep on cruising! :auto:

I have a "chip" that turns the fan on at the temperatures your talking about. Seems to work really well. I also have the auxiliary fan in front of the radiator which isn't supposed to come on till 230 degrees. The control for that aux fan is on the drivers side of the engine near #3 spark plug. I ran a wire from that control to a toggle switch under the dash and can turn it in any time I think the Vettes going to be sitting at idle for a length of time. With both the fans running, I can watch the temperature drop significantly in just a short period of time.

When I bought my 85 the previous owner put a toggle switch under the dash that allows me to turn on the main fan in one position or both in the other position. Center position allow the fans to work normal. I use the mod from time to time.
