General Questions
Just bought an 87. I don't have a manual as yet but I thought I would ask the list.
What brake pads would you recommend ?. I do not drive the car hard.
What part/s should I carry with me so I cant get stranded ? In my Fiero GT it is an ignition module and a throttle cable.
The Vette has 76K miles on it. It is a stock automatic. Should I put in a shift kit ?
Vermont requires a front plate (BIG fine if ticketed)Where can I get a front plate mount or is it already there ?
Anything I should look out for ?
Just the beginning so thanks in advance for the help.
Don
I just buy brake pads at Autozone or anyother parts store. I don't carry any parts in my 87 w/98k on it. One thing you'll want to check for is debris in front of your radiator if it starts running hot. They suck up everything. My license plate bracket was there. Enjoy it and welcome to the forum-where most of your questions will be answered, get the Helms manuals, there invaluable. :seeya

Since it is not driven hard, I would just get what ever they have at your local auto parts store, get the ones with the life time warranty than when the wear out you just exchange them for new ones, never have to buy pads again.

Jumper cables and a cell phone. Make sure you belt and fluids are good, that car should have plenty of good miles left on it.

If you don't drive it hard why would you need to was your money and time on a shift kit?

Just take the front plate cover off. It is held on by 2 torx screws at the bottom of the panel. Then screw you plate on.

If it starts and runs and you don't hear any funny noises and
if it was taken care of, it should be fine, just enjoy it.
