I got a NEW ac compressor. (It never worked since I got her.) At idle it sounds like a rattle. Open the hood and it is rat-a-tat-tat. Over idle quiets it down. Only does it when on. Also, the surge of the on-off rapid cycling drives me nuts. At idle speed it is surge, slow... over and over. Even at speed you can definately feel it kick in and out (every 30 seconds or a minute.) Is this an overcharge? It has a new low pressure switch. I can't believe a vette should feel like my 73 Pinto with the air on! Geez! It feels like it takes a ton of horses to turn it!
Help! I paid about a zillion $$$ to get this to work and it is ALMOST too unpleasant to run... course it isn't August yet! (In August it could peel off pounds of your flesh and you'd run it in a black vert in this sauna! I laugh at you guys in winter, but summer is a different story.)

Re: AC noisy? (onrecess)
That doesnt sound right to me. In the interior of my car, a 96 lt1, I can not tell a difference when the a.c. is turned on. I usually have the stereo or something on. If I am outiside of the car, with the a.c. on, I can hear a louder fan like noise. I notice very little performance decrease even in August in Texas.
