A huge shepard ran in front of my car, could not stop in time........BAM!
I was only going about 25mph but the hound flew about 20 feet, got up,
shook his head & took off into the woods and no houses around. I was in NH and not sure what town I was even in.
Anyway, I've got spider cracks on the nose and directional light is loose on one side.
How to get at this light??? I can't see it from under hood! Anyone done this fix? :smash:
When I bought my 85 one light rattled. yes the only way to fix it is remove the
bumper. A PITA I did alone but it's a lot easier to have another body when you reinstall it.
What I found was a flat V shaped metal device that puts tension on the assembly. I just had to rebend the metal out so it had tension again.
No more rattle.
Years ago I went out with some hottie. We were cruising through a winding canyon, top off, nice warn summer night and a dear runs out in front of the car.................................BAM. Hit the thing.Chicks screaming like ive never heard before,as far as I know the dear is airborne and about to come down into the car, somethings broke on the car and were about to go over the edge of the canyon.Keep driving until I can stop.Look back to see the dear laying in the road, chick stops screaming.Start to look over the car in the light and the only damage is the headlight bezel is cracked and the rub strip had dear fur melted into it all the way down the side of the car.Start to feel bad about the dear so I go back and the dear is gone.I got lucky.

Re: Big dog vs. vette (JIMBO7)
LOL sounds like that dog got a real wake up call. Even 25 mph can have quite an impact though if you calculate the physics. That dog could have been running on adrenaline. It might be dead now. I've seen deers get creamed at well over 60 mph and the front of the assailant vehicle looked unrecognizable from the impact. The deer would run into the woods and die about 20 minutes later. It's kinda like the effects of PCP on the body...though in a more natural way. Someone can put their fist through a car door, shatter every bone in their hand and not look bothered at all on PCP but about five hours later they have to be rushed to the emergency room. That dog might be really fooked up. :nonod: Then again.......it did jack up your vette's bumper.
