first test drive
The first thing I noticed when I got in was how comfortable it seemed. Obviously its no luxury car, but the seats were quite a bit more plush than those of the 951 that I drive now. It fit me pretty well - but of course I like the low to the ground, narrow footwell type cars. When I started it up....damn, it sounded nice, whatever exhaust was on there certainly had a nice deep rumble to it. Anyway, we took it for a little spin, and I'll have to say that I was very impressed. Its so much different than my car; in the vette it seems like all the power is available from 1K, whereas in my car, you have to spin it up to about 3K RPM before the power kicks in - guess thats just one characteristic of an American V8. Of course, the salesman was in the passenger seat, and I'm not to familiar with these cars, so I took it pretty slow; I didn't really get to test out the handling of the car, but I kinda got the feeling that I wouldn't be able to take it around the turns as fast as I do in my car, but like I said, I didn't push it too hard, so I can't really say for sure.
All in all though, I was happy with the way the car felt. I won't be buyin this particular one, considering it was an automatic (gotta be a manual for me) and that the dealer wanted 20,000 for it - seemed a bit over priced too me, I've seen cars that look to be in similar condition on the net selling for 14ish, so I'll keep looking...I did learn some important things about the vettes though - most importantly that I have decided that it is the car that I want for college, and I can't wait to step foot in my own vette sometime this summer...
