Vette imperfections
Come on guys, we have one of the best (modern) muscle cars money can buy. Those squeaks and rattles don't mean nothing as long as you've got a V8 under the hood, not like those crap ***. cars with tiny 4cyl. engines who think they have the best cars in the world   (yeah right)
My '95 has a couple of small spots in the fiberglass that should have been touched up before paint. Also, when looking down the side under the right light these cars are not the straightest I've seen. Probably due to the fiberglass body.
My front right fog light had mud inside the lens. It annoyed me so I pulled the bumper cover and removed the housing. I then removed the lens and found that whoever sealed it at the factory must have ran out of sealant on this housing. The bead of sealant was good all the way around except for the last 6 inches, where it got thinnner and thinnner until there was none. This left about 4 inches that was not sealed, and muddy water got inside.
My paint is Ok, but I was looking at a C5 in the local dealer's showroom the other day and the paint was orage-peeled like you wouldn't believe! I would NEVER buy that car.

The only imperfection I have in my Vette is the back hatch window! Every time I look at it in my rearview mirror I see Rustangs in the distance!!! :D

I am glad I am not the only one. But to hear the rumble of the motor and to look over that hood when I am sitting in the cockpit....who cares.
All cars have their faults and strengths. I knew that going in to this venture. In fact, I often lamented the fact that such a beautiful car could have so many areas of concern that GM just didn't care to address.
When looking for a sports car I gave very serious consideration to the Mercedes Benz 450 and 560. They have incredible engineering and a very high level of build quality. You know what else they have? Astronomical prices for parts that wear out. A close friend considers herself lucky if she spends less than $2000.00 per year in maintenance to keep her MB on the road. And she is not buying performance parts. Just ordinary fix-it stuff.
After taking these things into account, I decided that I would live with the Corvettes' flaws, fix those that I could fix, and enjoy the ride the rest of the time.
