Re: Why! Why! Why? (*89x2*)
...the owner told me he was stopped in a state (Texas I think) for haveing a car with too many paint colors on it, said they do not allow that for reasons such as hit & run identification (like that gem would be hard to I.D.) :lolg:
I think the tropper was just trying to get that thing out of the state! :leaving:
I'm sure most of you have seen the hideously disfigured 85 Corvette (I can't post a pic, but I'm sure someone else can.) You know the one that has graffiti over every square inch, including interior, engine bay, etc, Well I have the "Corvette day to day" calander and I rip off march 31st and low and behold April 1st features this bastardized Corvette. I know they purposly put it on the april fools page, but this just gives the criminal that did this validation for the crime he has done. I know some of you follow the doctrine of "do what you want", but come on!
 I was going to say, "you always tell people do what they want, it's their car."
:D
It's still better than a rice wanna be looking honda.
Boy, you can sure tell there aren't any art lovers in this crowd.
At least he had the cojones to do something different rather than make another cookie-cutter Corvette restoration or a "custom" Vette with parts that any schmoe can buy.

Look at my reply, it wasn't a restoration, he did it while it was relatively new.

There's a reason there's many similar looking Vettes. Because they LOOK GOOD the way they are. I don't see the point in doing something just to be different. If that's the only reason, then it's a pretty lame reason.

Ok Ok
I know we live in America and all...
But there ARE boundaries...
And although it is reminisant of Janis Joplin's ride in the Rock-N-Roll hall of fame in OHIO (heck in OHIO they told me they invented chili, and then tried to serve it to me on spaghetti)... I think there's still a line that should not be crossed... sorta like a turoboprop pinto project... or a Rolls with camoflage paint...
It's too bad the guy can't defend the car now... I'd love to hear what madness drove him to do it... it may have been Chevy for all I know... My brother in law refuses to buy another one because of their lack of service for his 80 coupe... he was so peeved he went and bought a ford tbird...
I just figure I have to scrounge to keep a 14 yr old gal rolling well. But I'd be nut's and locked up by family if they saw me do that to mine.
