power window short?

power window short?
My pass. side power window wont go up or down. using either switch (DS or PS switch) it stopped workin on the DS side, then i tried the PS side, then it all worked till iturned off the car, now neither work. but my DS window still works fine....? short or bad motor?

You sig doesn't suggest why year model you have, so I can't say for sure about which circuits to check and test.
Troubleshooting charts for power windows suggest either a short (possibly caused by worn insulation but still shows valid continuity) or a bad switch(es).
You might try a can of circuit cleaner spray on each switch to see if that doesn't help first.

From Ecklers a new motor is 84.99, a remanufactured one is 79.99. They list as the same for either side - all year models. I would check with Chris at Superior first, with the discount its probably cheaper than the suggested new price.

nah idont, but i fixed it, the top was pinching the window. it had gotten loose one day and i just tightened it, didntthink to check for it being properly aligned. i fixed it today at school, and when it was properly aligned the window had a 1/4" gap between the WS and the window pain. so its all good now.
