Default Question for Vert owners

Do you guys have a problem with the piece of fabric that covers the paint right inside the rear window flapping in the breeze? Id so, how did you fix it? I can't open my windows without the thing fluttering up and down.

I never had that problem. I sold my cloth top and bolted my hardtop on for good so it's been awhile since I've seen my top. I remember there were elastic bands that pull the cover towards the decklid. Just make sure those bands aren't worn. All you need is a little pressure against the lip of the cover to keep it down.

I just took mine out when i replaced the top. Only problem is I get a glare from the sun shining off the paint.

I've thought about taking it out. How bad is the glare? I wonder if there is a way to shorten the elastic straps.

Mine don't flap all that much.. But if it really bothers you.. then getting a little velcro under there won't hurt. Maybe put it on the vinyl portion of the decklid and not the paint.

I only notice it when the sun is behind me and I look in the rearview mirror. It's only held in place by four bolts, so its easy to try and if you don't like it you can put it back on in no time.

Mine flaps enough that I'm worried it might make wear spots on the paint. Real close to just taking it out of the top. In fact, I'll take it off in the morning and see if it bothers me. I'll try to have some stronger elastic sewn in, just so I can get it fixed since I think that's the problem.

Thanks guys. Glad I'm not the only person who has these stupid little problems.

I attached some small black cable that I bolted to one of the hard top mounting points on each side of the car. It pulls it tight and keeps it from flapping.

I'll try to get some pics and post them by this weekend.
