Hello All,
I have a 95 Coupe and the other day my wife called and told me that there was a puddle on both floors. It has been rainy the past few days or so. When I wash it I do notice a few drips on both side where the windows meet the top in the front, but nothing that would cause a puddle. The Wheatherstriping doesn't look bad at all. Actually I think it was replaced because it is in such good shape. The only one that needs attention is the rear hatch. Just looks like the adhisive let go. Any ideas.
If you guys think I should replace them I'd want to replace them all. Ecklers has the kit for $599.99. I've read here that Ecklers can be a bit expensive. Anyone know of a different place I can look for better prices.
Thanks in advance.

They make the rubber for GM. Better price through them. I have one of the windshield header strips from Ecklers ($199.00) and it is still in great shape, but have major leaks when it rains. The lip on the stripping has "laid down" and I think that is why I have water getting in my Vette. Another part to order. :smash:
The rear cargo weatherstripping "clips" on. No adhesive; a fifteen minute job to R&R. You have to pop off each support shock for a minute as you go to get the strip past them. Use something sturdy to prop up the hatch before popping one off, though. One strut won't support the weight of the glass. As far as the puddles in front, it could be the dash to door piece. You might check out its condition. They run about $60 each. Highway robbery but, whatcha gonna do?
It seems like I constantly fight little leaks in mine. Particularly a spot on the passenger side that doesn't Always let water in, only when I think I finally have it beat! Seems to be where the door outline seal has the "big blob" of rubber at the front top - seals up against the body with the door closed above the upper door hinge. The rubber was all new a couple of years ago (corvette rubber is definately the place to go), but I can "shim" that spot and change the character of the leak. Sometimes even get it to stop for a few months. It never gives up though...price I pay for driving it I guess. It's not That big a deal! As for driving it in the rain - why wouldn't you - they put wipers on it for a reason! Rain is nothing - I use it year round up here... the heater works too! <img src=" http://images.andale.com/f2/123/100/..._tires_one.JPG

My wife and I have always wanted a vette since we were kids. When we purchased it last summer we had a choice to make. Drive it all the time and take great care of it or look at it in the driveway and never use it because we would be afraid it would get wear and tear on it. Well after many years of wanting one we decided we would get as much use as we can. I know a lot of people baby there vettes to there own extreme. Great for them. I want to enjoy it as much as we can. Some day I will either get an older maybe 69 and that will be the one that comes out once in a while. Or maybe I'll decide I would like a newer c5 and then I'll restore and baby my 95. Right now that's all a dream. Some day I hope. Thanks for all the advice we've gotten from this forum. Hey got to go it's almost 70 here in MA. I'm off for a ride. :steering:
