LT1? or LT4?
A friend of mine just got a 1996 Vette (Black coupe/removable hard top, automatic, 13,000 miles) but he doesnt know much about cars and i dont know much about vettes. The person he bought it from didnt tell him if it was an LT1 or an LT4 or any other engine that model could ahve came with. is there any obvious ways of telling with engine it has? and also what are the hp ratings for the engines? Thanks

LT4 is 'rated' by GM with 330hp.
However, dyno results show its more like 350hp.

If it is an LT4 it will say Grand Sport on the Throttle Body and the 8th digit of the vin will be a 5. Guy
