Today I decided to change the plugs and clean the throttle body in my 93 LT1. I did all my homework, asked lots of questions and went in prepared. The jobs went a lot easier than I had really expected. The whole thing took me only about 4 hours, and that was with me being patient and taking my time. Everything went exactly as planned, except when I refilled the coolant. I forgot to close the little air breather valve on top of the thermostat. Coolant went squirting everywhere, and I am REALLY concerned about my opti - it was just replaced 2K miles ago! I know that some coolant dribbled down under the waterpump, but I don't know if it got into the opti, or even if it was enough to be significant.
And now a special thank you to everyone who has answered questions and posted tech tips. I am absolutely convinced that I would not have had the same results without the aid of the Forum. Thanks guys! If you consider yourself a newbie (like I am) PLEASE take this advice: ask questions on the forum and do your homework! You will be much happier with the results!!!
BTW, I feel like I owe you guys a beer or something. If you're ever in the area...

I agree, the plugs weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. I haven't done the throttle body yet, can't find that gasket kit locally, I'll have to order one.
Glad it went smooth!

My local NAPA had mine. $2.12, but that was just for the throttle body to plenum gasket. You can get the gasket kit from a dealership, but the cost about $32 out here. :(
