Eventually I want to move there (hopefully still have the vette) and I pulled the AIR pump and removed the CAT- will I need to retain these emissions parts to register it there???
Re: Does Georgia require emission checks? (byte_me)
All cars get emmisions tested and certified execpt..... If the cars is 18 years or older then I think it is exempt. My 72 vette was exempt for example. New cars get an exemption for 3 years before they begin testing. the test is $25 and if you have an ODBII (96 or newer) then it takes all of 5 min. If you have ODB1 or older then they do the thing in the tailpipe. Test are only for the 13 counties that make up the "Atlanta Metro area". All other counties do not do any type of testing.

I got assigned to the Georgia National Guard during their Desert Storm callup in 1991. Great bunch of guys and gals but they sure produced a lot of emissions after drinking that foul Budweiser beer that they so adore! :smash: :jester
