Radiator fan stuff
I had just replace the A/C clutch on my 89 and was giving it the "smoke test" when the high pressure switch caused the clutch to drop out. I after putzing around for a bit I realized that the radiator fan was not spinning and the engine temp was 240!!! CRAP!! Once I figured out which relays work the fan motors, and how they are controlled, it was apparent that the relays were OK. A quick rap on the fan motor with a wrench convinced it to start turning. This may have aided in the failure of the other A/C clutch, it was quite burnt inside the coil area. As the engine temp went past 230, the A/C seemed to load up due to no air flow across the condenser. Something to watchout for!!!

Replacement fans aren't too expensive and fairly easy to replace. Might be time to get a new fan instead of carrying a hammer with you! :smash:

You're right!! That fan motor was only $29.95 and wasn't too hard to replace. Works as advertised now!!!! I really appreciate this forum!!!!! :steering:
