Default Replacing Heater Core in 87

As the topic states..........I need to replace my heater core in my 87. Can it be done from the engine compartment, or do you have to tear the dash down. Thankyou for your advice in advance.

My son and I did my old 91 heater core. We had to do it from the inside pass side. It took us a 1 1/2 days. but it was worth it. good luck. Take your time and be pastince. :flag

Its done from the inside and is a major pain. It has been said that GM starts with a heater core and builds a car around it. In my view it is the most difficult repair in a Corvette. Not rocket science by any means just hard to get to. Good luck.
