Default Water Pump Replacement Steps (Light Hearted)

Steps:
1. Put off repair for 2 years and 40,000 miles. When the belt starts slipping and the puddle gets embarrassing you can start planning.
2. Order part from gmpartsdirect.com to get great price. CanÂ’t cancel order but that is OK because I need the pump.
3. Find out that gmpartsdirect.com is not fast delivery.
4. Get pump for moÂ’ money at Kragen.
5. Find out that gmpartsdirect.com does not have the part, it is special ordered and therefore canÂ’t be returned when you get it.
6. Take out old pump. Mark location with pieces of flesh.
7. Go to Kragen to get temperature sensor you broke trying to get the pump out of the car and the O-ring for drive side of the drive coupling.
8. Learn the fine art of keeping gaskets in place while trying to slip the pump into its location with limited access.
9. Reassemble car, refill cooant.
10. Take car for test drive on 100+ degree day to see if it leaks. (no leaks but not sure if it is cooling right because it is so damm hot)
11. Total cost: 2 – pumps, 1 – sensor, antifreeze, band aids, significant beer, about 10 hours of your weekend.
12. Drive to work today, no antifreeze smell.
:hurray:

Step 8 can be simplified if you skip the gaskets. :D
