Default '95 LT1 engine block question

Can anyone tell me what's between the 1st & 3rd cylinder (drivers side) on the block of a 1995 LT1?
I ordered a low temp fan kit from Eckler's and the 5/8" brass sensor that is part of the kit supposedly will screw into a casting plug between 1 and 3. The guy that tried to install it earlier today just found a freeze plug (about 2" - unthreaded). He's suggested to put the sensor in the radior hose using a nipple welded into a short tube and then inserted into the cut radiator hose and then clamped off.

I know someone else on the forum has the casting plug but his is a '93 LT1... can the '95 be different?

Any thoughts appreciated.

I will bump you until somebody else responds or I have time to go look in garage myself. Same block as 92-96 LT 1 vette engines.

Are you sure it goes into the block?

If you're looking for the coolant temp guage sensor, it's on the head between cyl 6 and 8 on the passenger side. The left and right heads are identical, so I believe there's a plug in the equivalent hole between 1 and 3.

Exactly. The heads are identical, and the stock sensor goes on the passenger side, between 6 and 8. On the driver side, there is a plug screwed in between 1 and 3 (the same place). You should be able to just unscrew it, and bolt the sensor in. I guess you may want to drain some coolant first, as some may leak out when you take the plug out. And make sure the engine is cold.
