I need some sticky tires for my vette.
My shop can hook me up with a set of M/T ET Street 28*12.5*16 to fit a set of 9.5*16" vettewheels from a 86.
Will these fit, have enough clearance for fender under launch?
When I take measures there seems to be enough space...
Anyone with experience in M/T that can advice...
Ohh I drive a zr1 with stock suspension.... 460 rwp
Appreciate any help..
I run those tires (with Camaro wheels) on my 94 and the tire has minor contact with the inner fender shroud. I needed about a 1/4 of an inch clearance (wheel spacer?).
So the contact was because of different wheel offsets than corvette stock wheel? Was there contact all time or just under acceleration ( tire grow)
Maybee it would be overkill to go with 28" I thought of saving 1 shift and go through 1/8 in second gear 7000 rpm 95 MPH. We do alot of 1/8 mile racing here....
post this in the drag racing section, I know there are a few running 28 in tires over there, Mackey to name one. I have 26x11.50x17 ET Streets, and the difference between these and drag radials is day and nite.
