I have seen where people have been advertise stop leak for you AC unit. Has anyone used this before and if so what brand do you recommend. Also type of Freon should go into a 92 LT1` Vette
In my experience, they don't work and just clog up the orifice (which is probably getting plugged up anyway if it's leaking). If you can't see the leak, go to an a/c shop and have it leaked checked so you can fix it. If it's leaking at the compressor shaft seal, look for oil on the hood above the belt. If it's there, clean it off with Simple Green as some have reported that it will leach through the hood destroying the paint.
Your '92 uses R12. In order to purchase it, you will need to get licensed. Same is available at http://www.epatest.com for 25 bucks or any of the sites listed at http://www.epa.gov. Autozone did have the best price ranging from $10 to $14 a can. You'll need 4. Otherwise, check Ebay or just do a Google search. You also need the right tools - a vacuum pump and a manifold gauge set and a good understanding of how a/c works. If you get licensed, you will learn some of what you need to know. The shop manual helps too.
