He emailed me looking to buy my vette that is for sale in the C4 sale area....wanted to get a little background check if I could. He says hes from Africa thats why Im a little nervous.
Beware. Those emails from interested parties in Africa are scams. They want you to take more $$ for the car, in the form of a check, and have you send the car and the change.. It's been around for a while.. Ignore it, do not reply.
Thats exactly what I figured it was.....as I have seen them around too.....just wanted to see if maybe once someone in Africa is really interested in a car LOL

Very old scam....I'd be cautious if not ignore him completely.
I seen a report on t.v. where people were buying cars over the internet with fake bank checks. Even the banks didnt know until everyone was ripped off. Tell him he can come over here with the cash in person and delivery is his problem.
Yep- Be careful...I had some guy send me an email saying that I was the bene of a lost dying relitive in Nigeria (OK...I am not from there) he left me 3 Million, and this guy was the executor of the will...he was to send me the ramainder (after his legal fees of course) as long as I provided a bank routing number and account number of my checking account... Sure I will, so- since I work for a Police Department...I replied from my work email... Dear sir, please send me the entire 3 Million in the form of a cashiers check (addressed to the POLICE)- I will deposit the funds and as soon as it clears I will send you the difference...P.S. I am in the process of running your name in our Databse as we speak- both of us being in the Legal arena- you can't take any chances...as I am sure you want to get your money...Hopefully the Federal background check of both your name, and the information I extracted out of your email address (your ISP) will come back shortly...as I work closely with the Fraud and economic crimes divisions.
You know- I never heard from him again??? Strange... :-) I love Fuxing with people...
Why would a fellow who claims to be in Nigeria be worried about a US Federal background check? Chances are he is not in Nigeria, but some european country well beyond the reach of any US law enforcement agaency for a crime such as this. Even Interpol wouldnt bother chasing this down unless he was very successful in scamming people out of a lot of money. He just laughed and moved on to his next phishing attempt. Its much better to have some fun with them by making them think they have a score.
