Default Removing Pegged Emblems

I broke out the heat gun and the dental floss to remove the emblem, but came to find that it's a pegged emblem. With pegged emblems, do I just put a bit more Umph into it and pull it off or what manner should I approach it with so as not to damage the paint? Thanks!

There should be nuts on the end of the pegs. Make sure you remove them first. The one under the hood is a little hard to get to. I put gum in my socket so I would not drop the nut in side the hood when I unscrewed it.

I don't think dental floss is going to help get the emblem off, if anything maybe fishing line would be better. Also you can try using a old credit card. I dought if you will hurt the pain by pulling off the emblem. I have done it several time, and never hurt the paint. I use WD-40 to remove the sticky stuff left behind. Also if you spray it on first it will losen the glue up a little.

Oh, I forgot to specify. Much like your's Mike, it's a ZR1 emblem. Do those have screws, if i reach up and under?

There are no nuts on the ZR-1 emblems.

[QUOTE]

I lost so many of those self tapping nuts down inside the clam shell that if I ever took it apart I could make a fortune in aluminum recycling.
